About Us

Shoals Family Clinic was founded in 2023 by Courtney Hood, CRNP. We specialize in medical weight loss, primary care, sick visits for adults and children, as well as DOT physicals. We are committed to providing compassionate and professional medical care to the Shoals and surrounding areas. 

Courtney Hood is a lifelong resident of the Shoals, graduating from Colbert Heights High School in 1998. She earned her Associates degree in Nursing from Northwest Shoals Community College in 2001, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Alabama in 2005, and a Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2010.  She completed training for medical weight loss in 2023 and holds a Certificate of Advanced Education in Obesity Management from the Obesity Management Association. 

Courtney has over 20 years of nursing experience and 13 years experience as a Nurse Practitioner, including experience in occupational medicine, pediatrics, and urgent care/family practice.
